About behentrimonium methosulfate: it's a conditioning agent made by synthesis from rapeseed oil. It is not plastic, not a polymer, and is biodegradable. It's the family of ingredients that gives commercial conditioners their slip — purely botanical conditioner bars don't deliver the same performance. We name it openly so you can decide for yourself.

The preservative pair (gluconolactone + sodium benzoate) is plant- and sugar-derived. No silicone, no parabens, no formaldehyde-releasing preservatives.

Contains menthol from the peppermint oil.

After shampooing, wet the bar and rub it directly on the lengths of wet hair — focus on mid-length to ends, not the scalp. Massage through with your hands. Leave on for a minute, then rinse thoroughly.

Between uses: let the bar dry fully on a dish with drainage. A wet bar left in a closed container turns soft and wears out faster.

For travel: fold the dry bar into a beeswax wrap before packing it in a wash bag. The wrap clings to itself, breathes enough that the bar doesn't sweat, and folds flat to come home with you — where a sealed tin or plastic bag would trap moisture and soften the bar. Unwrap and air-dry once you arrive.

One bar replaces roughly two to three bottles of liquid conditioner.

Passes The Standard. The body-contact component is the bar itself. No plastic, no silicone, no sulfates, no synthetic fragrance, no parabens, no phthalates, no formaldehyde-releasing preservatives.

The conditioning active is behentrimonium methosulfate, derived from rapeseed oil and produced through synthesis. It is not a plastic or a polymer; it is biodegradable; it is not on our reject list. We include it because the alternatives at commercial scale do not actually condition hair — and we name it openly rather than hiding it under a category claim.
