ABOUT THE SILICONE

Silicone is not plastic. It is a silicon-oxygen polymer — stable and inert at the temperatures and contact patterns of drinking water at room or refrigerated temperature. It does not degrade or shed microparticles in this application. Medical-grade is the appropriate specification for objects that go in a child's mouth.
