After Sun Butter for Soothing & Hydration

Sale price$31

A body butter for the end of a sun day. Peppermint's menthol delivers real cooling on skin that's been outside longer than planned — not fragrance-cooling but functional cooling. Aloe leaf juice powder (a concentrated dry form of aloe, more potent than the gel) works with shea, mango, and coconut butters to replenish moisture. Lavender for the calming edge; tea tree for light antimicrobial support. Refrigerate the jar for extra cooling on hot days.

Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter*, Cetyl Alcohol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder (Aloe Vera)*, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Glyceryl Caprylate, Glycerin, Tocopherol (Vitamin E)*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil*, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil*.

*Certified organic.

The preservative pair (caprylhydroxamic acid, glyceryl caprylate) is plant-derived. No parabens, no formaldehyde-releasing preservatives.

Contains linalool from lavender oil and menthol from peppermint.

Apply to clean, dry skin after sun exposure. Massage in gently.

For extra cooling: store the jar in the refrigerator between uses. Cold butter plus the peppermint menthol delivers significant relief on skin that's been in the sun longer than planned.

If skin is sunburned, patch-test first — peppermint and tea tree can sting on broken skin.

Not sunscreen. This is post-sun recovery, not sun protection.

We looked at sixteen creams and balms. Nearly all came in plastic jars or laminate tubes — plastic against the product for every day of its life. We kept the ones in glass, metal and cardboard.

This one passes The Standard. The body-contact component is the butter. The formula is organic shea, mango, and coconut butters, aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder, glycerin, cetyl alcohol as the emulsifier, vitamin E, a plant-derived preservative pair, and three essential oils — lavender, peppermint, and tea tree.

The peppermint is a functional ingredient, not a scent choice. Menthol is what delivers the cooling sensation on sun-exposed skin — it activates the same nerve receptors that ice does. Tea tree adds a light antimicrobial layer that supports skin recovery after longer sun exposure. Lavender is the calming component.

The aloe is in powder form rather than juice — a concentrated preparation with higher active content per unit than the standard aloe gel most after-sun products use.
