A two- to three-week adjustment is common when switching from an antiperspirant. Magnesium hydroxide formulas tend to suit skin that reacts to baking soda.

Passes The Standard.

We looked at eight deodorants. Seven came in polypropylene twist-up tubes — plastic, against warm skin, every morning. This one passed: The body-contact component is the balm — coconut oil, arrowroot powder, candelilla wax, mango butter, magnesium hydroxide, and essential oils. None are plastic.

The tube is cardboard, compostable and recyclable.
