Beeswax Food Wrap — 14 × 40 in Roll

Sale price$28.00

A 14-by-40-inch roll of printed cotton coated with beeswax, tree resin, and jojoba oil. Cut what you need — one roll makes about a dozen sheet-sized wraps or dozens of small ones. The wax and resin give the fabric its self-cling: wrap it around a bowl, press it over a sandwich, form it into a pouch. Jojoba keeps the coating pliable so the fabric doesn't crack over time. Contains beeswax.

Made by Beezy Eco in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Hand-wash in cool water with mild dish soap. Do not use hot water — heat melts the beeswax. Air-dry flat.

Do not: microwave, dishwash, use with hot food, or wrap raw meat.

At end of life: the cotton composts once the wax and resin have worn off; the wrap itself doesn't compost while still coated.

Passes The Standard. The body-contact components are the wax-coated cotton (which touches food) and your hands during use and washing. The coating is beeswax, tree resin, and jojoba oil — the standard formulation for this category. Tree resin is what gives the fabric its adhering cling (beeswax alone doesn't stick to itself the way this does); jojoba keeps the mixture pliable so the fabric doesn't crack.

Contains beeswax — animal-derived.

For anyone with bee-product allergies: this product isn't appropriate, though the exposure through food contact is much lower-risk than a topical wax product would be.
