The dome keeps butter and soft cheese covered on the counter without cling film or a plastic keeper. The glass is lead-free and cadmium-free; the wood base is finished with food-grade oil. Lift the dome by its glass knob.

We looked hard at ways to keep food on the counter. Most used plastic lids, plastic seals, or cling film resting right on the food. Only a few passed.

Passes The Standard. The body-contact components are the wood base — where the butter or cheese sits — and the glass dome that covers it. The base is finished with food-grade oil, no lacquer, no plastic coating. The glass is lead-free and cadmium-free, the relevant safety screen for food-contact glassware.

The dome lifts by a glass knob, not a plastic one, and rests directly on the wood. Nothing plastic touches what you're keeping under it.

This set arrives at our warehouse with plastic protective wrap around. We remove it and repackage in kraft paper. The set itself contains no plastic.
