Hand-wash in cool water with mild dish soap. Do not use hot water — heat melts the beeswax. Air-dry flat.

Do not: microwave, dishwash, use with hot food, or wrap raw meat.

At end of life: the cotton composts once the wax and resin have worn off; the wrap itself doesn't compost while still coated.

Passes The Standard.

We looked at nineteen ways to store food. Nine had plastic lids or plastic seals resting directly on the food. Four were "glass" sets with acrylic lids. Cling film is polyethylene, and it touches the food by design. Six passed.
This one: The body-contact components are the wax-coated cotton (which touches food) and your hands during use and washing. The coating is beeswax, tree resin, and jojoba oil — the standard formulation for this category. Tree resin is what gives the fabric its adhering cling (beeswax alone doesn't stick to itself the way this does); jojoba keeps the mixture pliable so the fabric doesn't crack.

Contains beeswax — animal-derived.

For anyone with bee-product allergies: this product isn't appropriate, though the exposure through food contact is much lower-risk than a topical wax product would be.
